Sunday June 27th, 1:30-3 pm. We will meet at the Swaner EcoCenter: 1258 Center Drive and head out onto the Preserve from there! Join the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter in this outdoor project managing invasive weeds! Invasive weeds crowd out native wetland species and impair the habitat. This is a great way to get onto areas of the Preserve that are not open to the public. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. The exact location of events varies week-to-week as weeds pop up on the Preserve. After you sign up, a location will be emailed to you a day or two before the event. Contact Rhea with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 435-797-8956. Volunteers should wear closed-toed sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sunscreen. Bring water and a snack if needed. Work gloves will be available to borrow but bring your own if there is a pair you prefer.
