Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter

Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9am-noon Join the Swaner Preserve and TreeUtah to plant trees along East Canyon Creek on the Swaner Preserve! These trees provide wildlife habitat, forage for elk, moose, and deer, nesting habitat for birds, and food and building material for beavers. They also help stabilize stream banks and cool streams to support trout that need cold water to survive. Meeting location is approximately 1050 Station Loop Road. Please park on the side of the road and don't block driveways in this residential neighborhood. https://maps.app.goo.gl/jhj8D4h9c117MJ6E6 Restrooms are not available on site, but there is a restroom available at the Spring Creek Trailhead a short driving distance from the project location maps.app.goo.gl/…. This is a great way to get onto areas of the Preserve that are not open to the public. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, spend extended periods of time outdoors, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, lift 20 lbs, and comply with the safety guidelines. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and have a lasting impact on the Preserve for years to come. Volunteers will be digging holes and planting container plants varying in size from 1 gallon to 15 gallon pots as well as willow stakes harvested on site. All tools including gloves and shovels will be provided. Volunteers should wear a hat, sunscreen, pants, and closed toe shoes. Bring water, water refills and snacks will be available.
